What Are Sony Japan Counting Down To?

Sony love a good countdown, and so it comes as no surprise to see a new timer chugging through the seconds on their Japanese PlayStation site.  Punctuated by thunder and occasional, barely-glimpsed landscapes in the background, the teaser is set to expire in just under 140 hours (at time of writing); in other words, smack in the midst of E3 2010.

The only other clue is that the site reads "Beta test starts", so it seems possible that this is a new online gaming system or title rather than a hardware launch.  Guesses so far have included a new Patapon, perhaps an online version, which has similar art styles to the periodic landscape visuals.
