Watch Emma Watson and Tom Hanks discuss The Circle
The film The Circle actors Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, and Patton Oswalt sat down for a chat today live on Twitter. Right this minute we've got a recap of that chat, including the full chat as re-posted to Twitter through Periscope. This film is essentially about a single company that represents such tech titans as Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple, and follows the story of a tech worker by the name of Mae Holland (Emma Watson).
In the film, Mae Holland works at The Circle, an internet corporation founded by Eamon Bailey and Tom Stenton. Bailey is played by Tom Hanks, while Patton Oswalt is Tom Stenton. Also in the film is John Boyega of Star Wars: The Force Awakens fame as Kalden, one of several members of The Circle. Karen Gillan (Dr. Who, Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy) is another member of The Circle in the film.

This film was based on the novel of the same name by Dave Eggers. The Circle the book was published in the year 2013. The subject of the book jams itself directly in the face of our modern world of questionable privacy and lack of transparency in political dealings. The Circle creates a camera called the SeeChange: light which live streams a person's life 24 hours a day, known as being "transparent."
In other words, it's a very long episode of Black Mirror that I'm positively terrified to go out and see. This film will be in theaters Friday, and will be shown for the first time in some locations on Thursday. That's Friday, the 28th of April, 2017.
