Want Android Lollipop on your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7? Here you go

This morning with the release scheduled for the Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 in the Google Play store, Google has prepared Android 5.0 Lollipop for developers everywhere. If you own the LG Nexus 5 or the ASUS Nexus 7 – either year – you're in luck. You'll have only to get prepped with the Developer Preview and update. If you want to shoot this process into super-speed, you'll have only to tap Google's downloads directly.

Google's most recent release on Lollipop suggests that this is a developer release – so don't expect it to be perfect. Also note that when you install either of these bits of software, you're going to want to back up whatever you've got on the phone before you load. It all might be lost – maybe.

The following two units will be updated this week. These are the basic Nexus 5 (the only Nexus 5) and the Wi-Fi version of the Nexus 7 from 2013. While you can try to use these updates for other versions of the Nexus 7, we recommend you wait until Google releases official factory images.

You can tap either of the above links to access Google's factory images directly. If you don't know the term "factory image", we recommend you do NOT proceed to download and/or load.

Everyone else – got for it! Let us know if you've used the "Android L" preview before and what you're seeing with the newest Lollipop build.
