Much like Xerxes the first, the team behind Viveport are generous gods, and do not want to keep the service to themselves alone. As such, the Viveport subscription service just came to Oculus this morning. With the Viveport VR Store on Oculus Rift, users can drop in on the subscription service with 200 compatible titles OR buy games individually.
Users such as yourself can attain access to Viveport right this minute via HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. This service acts as a VR store as well as a subscription service portal. Users can sign up for a two-week free trial if they wish, or they can buy in on one of the several different ways to pay to play.
No matter the subscription sort, users can pick up to 5 titles to play per month. There’s that $9 a month version where users pay month-to-month, then there’s a $20 version that lasts 3 months. There’s a 6-moth version for approximately $40, and a 12-month subscription that costs $80. As you get 5 titles per month, you get a grand total of 15, 30, or 60 titles in total, depending on your subscription sort.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseedand The Gallery – Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone to Viveport Subscription,” said developer Jo Dunlop at Cloudhead Games. “Launching on Viveport Subscription enables a whole new audience to have access to our content for the first time, further expanding and enriching our community.”
And that’s what we’re all about, right? Enriching any community leads to more life in the near future. VR needs all the help it can get, PR-wise, even though the ecosystem is shockingly strong and the content is ming-blowing.
The Viveport system’s also launching a sale sort of deal from September 4th to September 16th in which each of the 3, 6, and 12-month tiers are given an additional title or titles to keep forever. These deals are as such:
• 3-Month Plan ($20): Get Shooty Fruity to keep forever for free
• 6-Month Plan ($40): Get Everest VR + Shooty Fruity to keep forever for free
• 12-Month Plan ($80): Get Final Soccer VR + Everest VR + Shooty Fruity + Guns’n’Stories: Bulletproof VR to keep forever for free
