Virtual Reality art: Tilt Brush expands our horizons

Inside virtual reality you can create whatever you want to see and whatever environment you'd like to exist in. One fabulous example of a creation app that's ready for testing today on a limited basis with the Oculus Rift is "Tilt Brush." This app allows you to effectively sculpt with paint – flat, yet 3D.

The team at VR prototyping agency Skillman and Hackett have created this 3D masterpiece. It's not even out of Beta – it's not even ready for widespread use. It's the concept that matters most.

They've even gone so far as to create an auto-gif function that allows you to export what you're seeing as an image that everyone can experience. The biggest problem with Virtual Reality today is convincing the public that it's worthwhile to approach. Problem solved.

As you'll see above, you'll paint along 2D planes and move those planes in 3D space. It's magically delicious.

You can check out more on this system as it's released to the public through TiltBrush. This project was revealed at Oculus Connect and shared on Reddit this week – check there for more comments from Patrick Hackett as well!
