Viliv N5 clamshell MID coming to CES 2010

UMPC and MID manufacturers Viliv have had a pretty good year in their segment, and they’re obviously hoping to start off 2010 in the same manner.  According to UMPC Portal, the company is planning on launching two devices at CES in January, with the Viliv N5 making its debut and the Viliv S10 getting its full launch.  The S10 is a pretty straightforward 10-inch netbook, but the N5 is a 4.8-inch MID in the manner of the Fujitsu LifeBook UH900 or the UMID mbook M2.

Full details are unclear – we’ll obviously know more come the show in January – but the Viliv N5 does have a 1024 x 600 4.8-inch display (presumably a touchscreen) and a QWERTY keyboard.  Connectivity includes WiFi and integrated 3G, and there’s GPS too.  Viliv have done some pretty impressive things when it comes to battery life on their MIDs, so we’re quietly hopeful about the longevity of the N5.

Viliv made headlines earlier in 2009 with the S5, a 4.8-inch touchscreen MID.  It seems the N5 is a clamshell version of that model, likely with an Intel Atom processor and SSD storage.
