Verizon Samsung N150 netbook packs international 3G

Verizon has outed its latest 3G-enabled netbook, the Samsung N150, which for $49.99 (after a $100 mail-in rebate) and the promise to stay faithful to the carrier for two years, can be yours today.  Toting a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard-drive and both WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, the 10.1-inch N150 has not only EVDO Rev.A 3G support but triband UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100) and quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE for use outside of the US.

That makes it a whole lot more appealing to international travellers, though of course you'll be looking at Verizon's international data rates to go along with the flexibility.  Domestic plans are available in either monthly or prepaid form:

  • $39.99 monthly access for 250 MB monthly allowance and $0.10/MB overage
  • $59.99 monthly access for 5 GB monthly allowance and $0.05/MB overage
  • $15 for 75 MB (one day of use)
  • $30 for 250 MB (one week of use)
  • $50 for 500 MB (one month of use)
  • Meanwhile three international plans are on offer:

  • GlobalAccess Monthly Plan: $129.99 for monthly access (5 GB allowance for the United States and Canada, $0.05/MB overage); 100 MB allowance in select destinations ($0.005/KB after allowance).
  • GlobalAccess Monthly Plan 2: $219.99 monthly access plan offers 200 MB select destination allowance with the same rates for overage as the $129.99 plan.
  • GlobalAccess Pay Per Use: Must be purchased with a $59.99 Mobile Broadband service plan in the US; Pay Per Use rate is $0.002/KB in Canada, $0.005/KB in Mexico, and $0.02/KB in more than 200 other destinations.
  • Battery life is rated at up to seven hours, and the Samsung N150 with Verizon Wireless 3G is available from today.
