ASUS and Italian carrier TIM have announced a partnership to offer the Eee PC 1000H GO with integrated 3.5G HSUPA. The netbook will sell alongside the ASUS Eee PC 901 GO, already available from the carrier, and run Windows XP Home on the usual Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard-drive. Two color options will be available, “pearl white” and “galaxy black”, with TIM and Alice Mobile (the carrier’s mobile broadband brand) logos.
As well as the integrated HSDPA/HSUPA modem, the Eee PC 1000H GO includes WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth. The screen is 10-inches WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600) plus there’s a 1.3-megapixel webcam, multi-format memory card reader and six-cell battery. ASUS are claiming up to 7hrs use from the 1000H GO thanks to the company’s “Super Hybrid Engine” technology.
The TIM ASUS Eee PC 1000H GO will be available in late October 2008 in Italy, priced at €479 ($611). An Alice Mobile data plan offering 100hrs of internet access is priced at €40 ($51). The ASUS Eee PC 901 GO, meanwhile, is priced at €399 ($509) with the same data plan costing €35 ($45).
