The Division DLC 'The Last Stand' brings new game mode

Ubisoft has detailed the third expansion for Tom Clancy's The Division. With "The Last Stand" DLC, gamers will get access to a new game mode with 'clear objectives,' though it'll also include elements presently existing in the Dark Zone. That's only a sliver of everything coming to the game with "Last Stand," however, and there's more good news beyond the new game mode: the DLC will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 at the same time.READ: 'The Division' is being turned into a movie

If you're a Season Pass holder you'll get the chance to play the expansion before everyone else via the Public Test Server. Those who use the PTS will get access to a new Incursion, though Ubisoft says it'll go into more details about this particular aspect in the future.

Most notably, this new DLC will bring session-based player versus player gameplay, though it'll be mixed "with a strong PvE aspect," says the company. Gamers will get to experience the Dark Zone in a way that differs from how it has been presented so far, and'll offer one of the things gamers have been asking for.

In the PvP gameplay, Ubisoft says a pair of teams composed of eight players each will fight each other to get control of terminals. Those with the most info transfers win. Gamers will also find themselves fighting against Rogue in this game mode, so that you're always a 'good guy' regardless of which team you're on.

The company teases that this expansion will come alongside Update 1.6, which will itself bring about some pretty big changes to the game...some changes that'll be relevant to the expansion, but we'll have to wait until we get the details on that. Other notable additions with Last Stand include a new progression system, says Ubisoft, akin to Underground, where gamers will get experience points and Last Stand ranks as they play. Every time you rank up, you'll get a cache of gear including exclusive items.

We still don't have a release date for the DLC.
