Tesla is hiring video game developers for in-car games

Elon Musk has published a job notice on Twitter: Tesla is seeking video game developers. The company is accepting applications from developers who think they have what it takes to create games for the company, specifically for its vehicles. Applicants will need to send along samples of their work, with Musk warning that Tesla seeks "max playability and creativity."READ: Tesla V9.0 update will include Atari games as Easter eggs

"If you're into video game development, consider applying to Tesla," Musk said on his Twitter account. "We want to make super fun games that integrate the center touch screen, phone & car irl."

In response to a tweet asking if the company is seeking Pokemon Go for Tesla, Musk said, "Something like that, but more of an adults in cars anime vibe."

Unfortunately, no additional details on the plans were revealed, but the mention of combining the car, phone, and center touch display have some speculating that an augmented reality experience may be in the works. Others have turned a critical eye toward the tweet, expressing worries that the plan may result in potential driver distractions.

A search on Tesla's job website doesn't show any results for video game developers, but such a listing may appear in the near future. The tweet followed shortly after Musk tweeted plans to include Atari game Easter eggs in the Tesla version 9.0 update, which should arrive in a few weeks.
