Temple Run hits Windows Phone today!

This week at the Game Developer's Conference 2013 it's been announced that a variety of new titles will be coming to Windows Phone 8, including the highly popular Temple Run. When it comes to the mobile app ecosystem, there are a few kings and queens and a whole lot of lesser titles – Temple Run is one of the gods. When the original Temple Run was pushed to Android, it'd already been one of the hottest-selling games on iOS for several months, exploding then onto Google's mobile OS like a flash of lightning.

When this app comes to Windows Phone devices, you'll find slightly less of a flash, but a flash nonetheless. The developers behind the app, Imangi, have made it clear that they'll be releasing this app to Windows Phone devices soon and very soon – we'll see exactly when just a bit sooner! In addition to this title, several other games have been revealed to be coming to Microsoft's mobile OS rather rapidly.

The rest of the list goes like this: 6th Planet, Orcs Must Survive, Flight Theory, Ruzzle, Propel Man, Drift Mania Championship – and more! We'll be taking a peek at each of them this week to see how fabulous they really are. Meanwhile be sure to let us know if you've found any of them to be particularly excellent!

Below you'll see a brief hands-on video with the original Temple Run game for Android courtesy of our pals at Android Community. This game is essentially the same as the one you'll be downloading for Windows Phone today, controls and all!

UPDATE: According to Microsoft, each of the games above will be available to purchase and play today! – Or if not today, throughout the rest of the week. Stay tuned!
