US and German automakers find themselves in the midst of a war of import tariffs and car comparisons, following President-elect Trump's threat to hit Mercedes, BMW, and others with eye-watering rates. The prospect of a 35-percent import duty to car manufacturers bringing in vehicles from outside of the US was met vocally by German politicians, this week. This archive plans to collect video clips of President-elect Trump, including a range of different appearances that include interviews, speeches, news clips, and debates. Though the archive just launched and is very much considered a work in progress, it already features more than 520 hours of video content.

Created by the Washington Post, the add-on will insert blurbs beneath Trump's tweets when more information may be necessary. Last week the CIA released a report saying that it concluded Russia had carried out cyber attacks in an effort to disrupt the US's presidential election and tip the scales to benefit Donald Trump. Following an earlier request from President Obama for an investigation into the matter, the FBI now agrees with the CIA's assessment, as does the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Tensions between the US and China were raised earlier this week when a Chinese naval vessel operating in the South China Sea seized an underwater research drone belonging to the US Navy. The issue was quickly escalated when the US's Department of Defense demanded the device's return, while President-elect Donald Trump chimed in on Twitter, calling the seizure an "unprecedented act." Buzzfeed received statements from spokespeople for all three tech giants, each iterating that they were against the idea of, and would in no way participate in creating such a registry for the Trump Administration.

Although the FCC already ruled in favor of net neutrality last year, the changing of the guards opens up the real possibility, nay an explicit objective even, of undoing all that. Only yesterday it was revealed that US President Obama has ordered an investigation into the effects Russian cyber attacks had on this year's election, however it appears the CIA has already made its own assessment, determining that the goal was to benefit Donald Trump. Both the Washington Post and NY Times have reported that the CIA has already briefed senators on its conclusion, noting that it was "clear" Russia wanted to see Trump get into the White House.

Donald Trump's impending presidency and Pompeo pick for CIA has sent downloads of secure encryption chat apps skyrocketing. According to the makers of the encrypted messaging app Signal, they've had a 400 percent growth increase since election day this month. Moxie Marlinspike, co-founder of OWS, makers of Signal, they've "never really seen any single event that's resulted in this kind of sustained, day-over-day interest." According to Marlinspike, this may be because of fears that Trump's impending control of "the least accountable surveillance apparatus in the history of the world."
