T-Mobile update page tells you where your Lollipop update is

Everyone wants the latest Android update, Lollipop 5.0. What good is a phone without the latest and greatest update, anyway? Updates can mean more than glossy new icons and added superficial functions. Sometimes, an update can mean the difference between smooth sailing and your favorite app constantly crashing. Recently, some Android device users have been left in the lurch as updates seem to pass them by. Now, T-Mobile users can track their latest Android software update (most likely Lollipop 5.0) on the new software update status page.T-Mobile has a solution for tracking the newest update for all their Android devices. But, the site only tracks software updates for official T-Mobile devices. So, if you are using T-Mobile as a service provider on a unlocked Android smartphone, your update won't be listed.

There are three stages to the update's rollout for each device. First up is Stage 1: Manufacturer Development, wherein T-Mobile and the device manufacturer have simply, "agreed to support a new software update." After that, is Stage 2: T-Mobile Testing. This seems to be T-Mobile's own quality control step. Finally, is Stage 3: Completed, but completed isn't the same as being instantly ready to download. Frustratingly, it just means that the update has been approved to launch.

How useful and accurate is the T-Mobile update schedule actually going to be? The descriptions are fairly vague, and some users are complaining that it's not much better than having no page at all. Notably absent from the Lollipop guild is the Nexus 6, even though earlier models and the newer Nexus 7 are listed as undergoing the update process. Like it or not, this seems to be the best hub of update information to get your Lollipop fix.
