T-Mobile Revvl leaks on carrier's website: launch tipped as next week

T-Mobile is going to launch its own phone called the Revvl, and it has just appeared on the carrier's website ahead of its official debut. The product page, which is still live on the site and may have been made visible intentionally, reveals some of the handset's specs including a 5.5-inch display and support for the carrier's 4G LTE network. A separate leak seemingly reveals the launch date.

T-Mobile's plan to offer its own-branded smartphones leaked earlier this year, and was followed by the first handset's revelation in June. Per leaks, we learned the initial phone will be a budget-tier handset called the Revvel T1, and a new product listing on the carrier's website confirms that name (the Revvl part, anyway).

Only one image is available on the Revvl product page at this time, but it shows a fairly standard design with thin bezels and a dark design. The page says the phone will be running 'Android 7.1.x,' and it'll support both VoLTE and WiFi Calling. The display is listed only as an 'HD' offering, seemingly indicating — but not confirming — that we're looking at a 720p resolution.

Meanwhile, the handset will sport 32GB of internal storage alongside a microSD card slot that supports capacities up to 128GB. The T-Mobile Revvl will also feature 2GB of RAM, a 3,000mAh battery with between 10 – 18 hours of usage time, and an unspecified quad-core 1.5GHz processor. Despite being a budget-tier handset, the Revvl will offer a fingerprint sensor.

Cameras will feature a 13-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor. There will be 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 'WiFi sharing' in what appears to be a hotspot feature, support for HD Voice, and some unspecified 'anti-theft' feature. You can view the entire specs sheet here.

Meanwhile, the folks at TmoNews got their hands on a leaked screenshot that shows the T-Mobile Revvl with a launch date of August 10. That screenshot shows the handset as being priced at $0/month upfront for 'any customer,' but only for a limited time; it shows $7/month when used with JUMP! On Demand. The cost isn't listed on T-Mobile's site, however.

Assuming that past leaks were correct — and so far they have proven so — this will be the first of multiple phones launched and branded by the carrier. It seems the 'Revvl' designation may be the product line's name, while each phone will have its own name or version number (like 'T1'), though that reality isn't yet reflected on the T-Mobile website. We'll know for sure in the next handful of days assuming the leaked screenshot is correct.
