Steve McQueen Driven '71 Porsche 911 T Heads To Auction

It's amazing how much value an object that was owned by a celebrity can gain just by being linked to the celebrity and few names add more to the value of a car than Steve McQueen. McQueen was a famous actor from the '70s and '80s who is now deceased. A Porsche that he drove while making his iconic racing film Le Mans is heading to auction with Christies and the car is expected to command a premium just because McQueen drove the car during filming.

Note that the car wasn't used in the movie, it was driven by McQueen as his personal ride during the filming. The car is a 1971 Porsche 911 T Coupe and it will go up for auction on November 24. The car that McQueen actually drove in the film was a 911 S, which he kept when filming ended.

The 911 T going up for auction was purchased by CBS Solar Film Studios from a Swiss racing driver named Jo Siffert. The car currently has 46,350km on it and is in perfect condition with original body and paint. The car reportedly had minimal repairs and all chrome parts and the interior are complete.

The car is chassis number 911/1100804 and estimates for the sales price are €250,000-350,000. It's easy wonder how much less this car would be worth without being tied to the legendary actor.
