Star Wars 7 trailer released this week: here's where [UPDATED: More theaters!]
This "holiday week-end" you'll be able to see a trailer for Star Wars The Force Awakens, aka Star Wars 7, in select theaters throughout the United States. A limited number of theaters are said to be participating in this "preview" for the film – though we're not entirely sure why our source uses that word. One worker for a theater chain suggests that an internal email has been sent notifying employees that the preview will be coming. We must assume it'll be coming in a steel truck with armed guards, but no confirmation on that bit yet.
According to Regal Theaters, they'll have an extended list of theaters participating soon. According to The Film Stage, the following 9 theaters will be the only locations you'll be able to see the trailer.
CA Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX
CA Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
GA Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
IL Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX
NY Regal Union Square Stadium 14
PA Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX
TN Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
TX Edwards Houston Marq'E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX
WA Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX
It's suggested that the "world premiere of the Star Wars VII trailer" will be out in "Select North America theaters." Whether or not this means the theater selection above will be extended or not, we do not know.
The Regal locations above are said to be debuting the trailer before ALL MOVIES on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November only.
Stay tuned as we ascertain additional information. For now it would appear that this will be a limited event and that the trailer wont be shown elsewhere. Not at first, anyway.
UPDATE: Additional locations have been added, straight from StarWars official!
