Sony started shipping its 3D TVs last month with high-end models like the LX900 and others that we have talked about before. Like most of the 3D TVs on the market, the new Sony sets require the use of active 3D shutter glasses.
High-end sets like the LX900 ship with two pair of glasses, which is all fine and good unless you have more than two folks wanting to watch TV. If you need more 3D glasses to outfit the rest of the family, Sony's active shutter glasses are now shipping on Amazon.
The glasses are Sony TDGBR100B and sell for $149 each. That's certainly not cheap at $300 for a pair rounding out 3D watching for the average family. Some of the lower-end Sony 3D ready sets will also need additional hardware increasing the cost even more.
