Sony 3D display and 3D glasses for PS3 to hit Japan in November

We have already talked a bit about why you should buy the Sony PS3 3D display and 3D glasses a while back. Sony Japan has announced that the display and the 3D glasses will be shipping soon in Japan. The official pricing for the products has also been unveiled for Japan. The 3D display comes bundled with one pair of glasses and the HDMI cable you need to connect to your PS3 console. The HDMI cable is 2-meters long.

That 3D screen is a 24-inch offering that has full HD resolution. One special feature of the screen is that it has quad-speed frame sequential display tech inside. It has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and 176-degree viewing angles with a 4ms response time and will work for 2D images as well. Inside the display are dual channel stereo speakers and a subwoofer for quality sound. The display is 35mm thick and uses edge-lit LED technology. The coolest feature is that the screen has SimulView so two people can see individual images on the screen.

The 3D glasses are active and use a rechargeable lithium ion battery inside. The battery has quick charge tech and will charge enough for an hours use in three minutes. A 45-minute charge is good for 30 hours of use. The big news here is that the display and glasses will hit Japan on November 2. There were rumors the display and glasses wouldn't hit in time for the holiday season. The display bundle will sell for 44,980 yen with the glasses alone for 5,980 yen.
