Samsung Unpacked 2017: How to watch the Note 8 launch

Excited? If you're a phablet fan you probably should be, as we're only minutes away from Samsung showing us exactly what it has in store for the next generation of Note. The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been talked about, leaked about, predicted over, compared ad-infinitum to iPhones new and unreleased, and generally the go-to topic of conversation for smartphone fans for months now.

Now, the wait is almost over. Today, Samsung will take the wraps off the Note 8 at its latest Samsung Unpacked 2017 event. Held in New York City, even if you can't be there in person, you can still get involved. Samsung is livestreaming the whole Unpacked 2017 event, both in normal video and in 360-degree format. The show kicks off at 11AM ET, which works out to 8AM PT.

We're expecting it to last around an hour, and be fairly packed. According to the rumor mill, the Note 8 will have a sightly larger screen than the Galaxy S8+, but differentiate itself with the S Pen stylus. On the back, the leaks point to not one but two cameras, with Samsung following the path of the iPhone 7 Plus and giving the Note 8 an optical zoom courtesy of both wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

Otherwise, we're expecting the latest processor, plenty of RAM, some new productivity features, and a whole range of accessories to go alongside the new Note 8. Oh, and a frustratingly placed fingerprint sensor, on the back by the camera lenses.

If you're like most of us, and plan to watch the event on a regular monitor, you'll want to keep your eyes glued to the video below. Should you be a fancy type of person, and want to see it in 360-degree video, however, Samsung has you covered. There's a special 360 version for those viewers, though people with regular displays can still access it and manually pan the scene around.

Of course, if you want to see just the highlights of what Samsung has to show today, SlashGear has got you covered. Keep an eye on the homepage from the start of the event, for some Note-shaped surprises...
