Samsung GALAXY S 4 Launched At C Spire Wireless
Samsung's GALAXY S 4 has found itself another home, this time at C Spire Wireless, previously known as Cellular South. Subscribers can nab the phone starting today, with the pricing coming in at the fairly standard $199.99 with a two-year contract. They're being offered online and in the carrier's retail stores in the White Frost and Black Mist colors.
C Spire's offering the Samsung GALAXY S 4 in a more or less typical state, but has tossed a suite of its software into the mix, among them being WiFi on and Vū. The WiFi on offering is nifty, allowing users to zero in on available WiFi networks when roaming in unfamiliar places. And Vū, meanwhile, is a "comprehensive online content personalization tool that delivers content users need and want."
The other added features are similar, with a great deal of them involving the camera, such as Air Gesture, as well as a Drama Shot and Eraser Shot. Drama Shot is a mode that takes multiple images of a person and assembles them in a single shot, while Eraser Shot is the opposite, allowing a person or object to be removed.
Aside from that, there's the typical Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 with the TouchWiz user interface. The GALAXY S 4 features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, as well as a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display (1080p resolution). Inside, there's a 1.9GHz quad-core processor alongside 2GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of internal storage space an a 2600mAh battery. Connectivity includes, among other things, 4G LTE support.
Earlier today, we reported that the handset has also arrived at MetroPCS, going on sale earlier this morning in "select markets." Among the locations being served is Las Vegas, Boston, Atlanta, New York, and San Francisco. Because of the lack of a contract and its resulting subsidization, the handset is priced at $549.
