Rock Band 3 keyboard caught on video; new Pro mode detailed

It may look like a guy enjoying a private Bontempi moment, but you're actually looking at the first glimpse of the Rock Band 3 keyboard, caught on camera by USA Today.  The 25-key peripheral will work in both regular and Pro modes – where there are either five or all 25 keys used – as well as as a standalone MIDI keyboard.Video demo after the cut

"This is a real instrument and a real device," senior designer Sylvain Dubrofsky told the paper, and will be accompanied by two new guitar controllers.  One will be a fully functional Fender guitar, and both will be used in the Pro mode.  Altogether, there will be a total of seven different musicians supported at any one time: drums, lead and bass guitar, keyboards, lead vocals and two harmony vocals.

Apparently Mad Catz is preparing a miniature Fender Mustang Pro guitar controller as well, while there'll be a three-cymbal upgrade for the drum kit.  Rock Band 3 is expected to arrive in time for the holidays, for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.
