Refreshed 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid gets new sports SE version

Toyota has unveiled the refreshed 2016 RAV4 Hybrid SUV and the car has a new grade that aims at those wanting sometime sporty and fun to drive. The new grade is called the SE version that gets a sportier style and sport-tuned suspensions. SE buyers also get 18-inch alloy wheels and paddle shifters for the 6-speed auto transmission.

LED headlights are standard on the SE version and buyers can get two-tone paint with white, black sand pearl, and electric storm blue over classic silver on the bottom. Inside it gets SofTex trimmed seats with power on the driver's side Limited editions. Black or Black/Cinnamon interior colors are available. Instruments also have twin dials with red illumination and red pointers.

All 2015 RAV4 Hybrids get a 2.5L Atkinson 4-cylinder and a small high-torque electric motor. Total power output is 194hp with 206 lb-ft of torque, enough to push the car from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Regenerative braking helps keep the NiHM battery charged.

The RAV4 Hybrid can go for 0.6 miles on electricity alone at speeds below 25mph. The entire RAV4 line gets revised styling with a sleeker body and available LED taillights. Inside an available 4.2-inch TFT display and 7-inch touch sensitive audio system are available.
