Today’s first big trailer for Quantum Break suggests that you’ll be given the opportunity to be Quicksilver. Or The Flash. Basically you’re moving faster than everyone else in the game, so it appears that they’re moving slow. Only you’re not just working with that bit of oddity, you’ve got even stranger weapons at your disposal. Imagine an orb of time warp tossed like a grenade. Imagine a game that takes the aesthetics of time travel seriously, made by Remedy Entertainment, developers that very much appear to have dedicated a significant amount of time to making this one vital element a reality.
What’s going to throw you for a loop here is the second half of the trailer. You’ll be second-guessing yourself on whether this is a computer-generated set of images, or if we’re watching filmed visions interspersed with the rest. Honestly it’s difficult to tell.
Inside this game are some big-name actors, as well. You’ll find Shawn Ashmore, Aidan Gillen (Little Finger from Game of Thrones), Dominic Monaghan (Merry the hobbit from Lord of the Rings), and Lance Reddick.
According to Collin Moore, Community Manager at Microsoft Studios, “Your choices in-game will affect the outcome of this fast-paced fusion between game and show giving the player a completely unique entertainment experience.”
Quantum Break will be released on April 5th, 2016 for Xbox One.
