Perfect Wakeup Machine first tempts then forces you from bed [Video]

Would Sharper Image have lasted longer if it billed its alarm clocks as capable of "more violent and persuasive measures" should the owner not get up? That's likely something we'll never know the answer to, but it's okay because we're too busy trying to avoid the wrath of "The Perfect Wakeup Machine": the handiwork of four mechanical engineering students at Colorado State University, this monstrous alarm first tempts you out of bed with freshly brewed coffee, before escalating to more dramatic methods.Video demos after the cut

Those methods range from buzzers and music, through vibrating pillows and flashing lights, to a "bed sheet remover".  The latter does exactly as you'd expect, whipping away the covers to bare you to the harsh elements.

Since their project was judged in terms of programming and problem-solving skills, rather than aesthetics, the end result is something more industrial than most people might like on their bedside table.  Still, if the buzzers and coffee won't wake you, perhaps the glaring red LEDs will.
