Panasonic GM5 packs 25,600 ISO into your palm

Panasonic has outed the LUMIX DMC-GM5, its latest Digital Single Lens Mirrorless camera, packing a 16-megapixel sensor in a compact body. Supporting up to 25600 ISO shooting and Full HD video recording, the GM5 has a maximum shutter speed of 1/16,000 as well as integrated WiFi.

That wireless connection can be used to remotely control the GM5 from a smartphone or tablet, as well as to transfer photos and videos across. The camera can also be set to automatically offload footage whenever within range of your home router.

As well as a 3-inch, 921k-dot touchscreen there's a 100-percent field of view electronic viewfinder, with 100-percent color reproduction.

Up to 240fps Contrast AF is supported, along with a new Snap Movie Mode which captures between 2 and 8 seconds of video with a still and then converts them into a Harry Potter- style moving image. Panasonic's own Venus Engine is inside.

The Panasonic DMC-GM5 will hit stores in mid-November, with pricing yet to be confirmed. It'll be offered in black, and red with a synthetic leather body.
