Omate Lutetia gold smartwatch is first made for women

In August Omate introduced a companion smartwatch with a design that targeted it at men, something that will soon be joined by the Omate Lutetia, a companion smartwatch designed for women. Omate says its wearable is the first smartwatch to be made exclusively for women, and with it comes a design that makes it appropriate for both formal occasions and everyday wear. "The Omate Lutetia will allow modern women to finally enjoy all the perks of a smartwatch without having to sacrifice their style," says the maker.

Because the Lutetia is a companion smartwatch, it works in conjunction with the user's smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0. This shuttles things ranging from app notifications to incoming calls to the smartwatch, removing the need to pull our your phone with every vibration.

The newest Omate smartwatch is compatible with iPhones running iOS 6 or higher and Android phones running version 4.3 or higher. The design is elegant, to say the least, with a stainless steel casing and either gold, rose gold, or silver color finishing to give it a classy appearance without the cost.

The display is a round transflective LCD with sapphire for extra durability. With the exception of the design, the smartwatch is otherwise identical to the Omate X for men, featuring a MediaTek SoC and battery life up to five days. The smartwatch is up for pre-order at $169 USD; it launches next month.
