Nokia outs Lumia app exclusives

Nokia Windows Phone users have a new batch of exclusive apps to look forward to, with the Finns revealing a handful of software details for Lumia including PGA Tour, Groupon and Angry Birds-themed special content. June will see the new PGA Tour app hit Lumia phones as a year-long exclusive, along with Live Tiles sports scores, team-level panoramas, score/league/team personalization, and the inclusion of tennis, NASCAR and the 2012 Olympics to the existing ESPN app this fall. More details after the cut.

It's not just sports, either. Entertainment and lifestyle will also get a boost, with Nokia working with Rovio on helping them port Angry Birds Space to Windows Phone. That won't be a Lumia exclusive, but Rovio has said it will be releasing some special content solely for Nokia device owners in the coming months.

The new Groupon Windows Phone app will be a Lumia exclusive for six months, dropping this summer with augmented reality views of nearby deals. Tripdots will be limited to Lumia for three months, meanwhile, turning frugal driving into a competitive game. Finally, the AOL Entertainment Hub will be a six month exclusive.

Meanwhile, Windows Phone users in general will get a new PayPal app, though a timescale for its release hasn't been confirmed, and TIME Magazine has an app in the pipeline too. That will push the latest stories to a special Live Tile on the homescreen. News Week will release a version of its The Daily Beast for Windows Phone as well. A Box app will allow mobile cloud access this summer.
