We already knew that the Nokia E72 was coming this month – it’s been listed on Vodafone UK’s site since early September – but the Finns themselves have now got into the action with a SIM-free price. The E72 has been added to Nokia UK’s online store for preorder, priced at £359 ($572), though there’s no telling when they’ll actually begin shipping.
The Nokia E72 is the replacement to the E71, and packs an updated 5-megapixel camera, 2.36-inch QVGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and both WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. As for 3G support, three versions will be available: each has quadband GSM, but then there are 900/2100, 850/1900 and 850/2100 models to suit various locations around the world.
While the E72 runs Symbian S60 rather than one of the more fashionable current mobile OSes such as Android, there’s still a sizeable legion of S60 fans who have been waiting for this new device. Looks like they won’t have to wait much longer.
