No Man's Sky Visions update has big planet changes in store

It's been a pretty big year for No Man's Sky already, but before we close the book on 2018, the team at Hello Games is pushing another seemingly massive update out the door. Today, Hello Games delivered full patch notes for the game's incoming Visions update, and they're pretty beefy. Though the Visions update is a big one, many of the new features seem to be centered around making the universe a more diverse place.

If you've been spending some time with the game after its NEXT update landed earlier in the year and the planets you visit are starting the blend together, it sounds like Visions will be right up your alley. Players will find new biomes on the planets they explore, along with new creatures (including sentient minerals and more dangerous plants) that inhabit them.

Planetary aesthetics have also been given a bump up. Hello Games has added new shades of sky and grass along with new water types to give planets more diversity. You'll even see rainbows on some planets during certain types of storms which, while not some kind of essential addition, is something I think we can all get behind.

Adding more diversity to the universe isn't the only goal of Visions. You can now perform archaeology on the planets you visit, digging up the bones of creatures long dead and them presumably selling them for profit. You'll also be able to salvage parts from crashed satellites (assuming the corrupted drones that guard those satellites don't stop you) and harvest rare crystals from hazardous planets. There are even new community missions that the entire player base can participate in to unlock new cosmetics.

There are, of course, various fixes and tweaks coming along with the Visions update, and you can read more about those in the update's full patch notes. Visions is arriving tomorrow, leaving little time between announcement and release. Are you planning to check out No Man's Sky Visions? Head down to the comments section and let us know!
