Nintendo Switch weekly eShop update: Mushroom men and epic adventures

After going through a bit of a quiet phase last week, the Nintendo eShop has some big-name debuts in store over the next few days. Of course, many Switch owners have been looking forward to one of them, Octopath Traveler, for quite some time. A year-and-a-half after Square Enix first revealed the game, Octopath Traveler is finally scheduled to launch on the Switch eShop tomorrow.

In Octopath Traveler, players will follow the branching stories of eight different characters. It's an ambitious title that draws at least a little inspiration from the great JRPGs of the past, so there are definitely a lot of people looking forward to it. Octopath Traveler lands on the Switch eShop tomorrow, July 13.

Octopath Traveler is being joined by the Switch port of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. A spin off of Super Mario 3D World, this puzzle game was first released as a budget title on Wii U and is now getting a second shot at life on the Switch (and 3DS). Have a look at the full list of releases for the week ahead below.
