Nikon Coolpix S1000pj gets hands-on: fun & convenient [Video]

Nikon's Coolpix S1000pj projector-camera may only have got the official nod from the company this morning, but that hasn't stopped Stuff.TV from going hands-on with the 12.1-megapixel shooter already.  They found the S1000pj to be surprisingly good fun, with the VGA quality from the pico-projector making up in communal usability what it lacks in visual fidelity.Video demo of the S1000pj after the cut

Control of the projector is courtesy of a separate power button up top, and there's also a slider that can be used to adjust the focus.  Theirs was a pre-production model, but it all worked well and the camera features worked as you would expect.  We'll have to wait for a full review to find out if the still quality is the thorn in the S1000pj's side.

The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will begin shipping in September, priced at $429.95.  Stuff.TV are promising video footage of the S1000pj soon, but since we're impatient people we dug up this clip of French people being excited about it instead:
