Nikon Coolpix P900 Features 83x Optical Zoom
Many people don't want a DSLR camera that gives them control over every aspect of a photograph. What many want is a camera that does all the hard work for them and has a huge zoom range. For that type of person Nikon has a new point and shoot camera called the Coolpix P900. The big feature of this new camera is a gigantic optical zoom lens good for 83x optical zoom.
The camera also has digital zoom bringing the total available zoom to 166x. Nikon equips the camera with NFC technology for easy pairing to mobile devices. The WiFi inside the camera makes it easy to share images to connected Bluetooth tablets or smartphones.
Integrated GPS allows the camera to tag images with location data. The P900 has a 16MP CMOS sensor and can shoot bursts at up to 7fps. The rear LCD on the camera is a 3-inch unit with 921k dot resolution and it supports variable angles.
Nikon also fits the camera with Dual Detect Optical VR technology to reduce camera shake when using high zoom levels. The high zoom levels can also be used when recording HD video in 1080p resolution. Nikon will launch the P900 in April for $599.95.
