Nikon has rolled out a new compact rugged digital camera to its product lineup, the COOLPIX AW120. Aside from the 16MP sensor, the AW120 offers Full HD 1080/60i video recording, 5x optical zoom, and 10x digital fine zoom. There's Hybrid Vibration Reduction to help keep pictures clear, and aperture hits a max of f/2.8. There's up to 6.9 frames-per-second continuous shooting, and a 3-inch high-resolution OLED display around back.

As far as the ruggedness goes, the AW120 is waterproof to up to 59 feet, shockproof from drops up to 6.6 feet, and freezeproof to temps down to 14F/-10 Celsius. As mentioned, there's integrated GPS, which allows for location tracking. Integrated WiFi also complements the compact shooter. The camera launches next month for $350 in Black, Blue, Orange, and Camo.

Said Nikon's Director of Marketing and Planning Masahiro Horie, "The new COOLPIX AW120 is uniquely designed for Nikon's thrill-seeking consumers who are living life to the fullest, and need a camera to keep up. We've incorporated useful features and technology while still providing the image quality that Nikon has become synonymous with, so users can spend less time navigating their camera and more time navigating their adventure."
