Nexus 6 from AT&T accidentally revealed

Before your heart starts to skip a beat, know that this might have just been an innocent error. Either someone pressed the "Publish" button too soon or actually messed up in typing in details. Either way, those errors are leading to some hope that AT&T might have some space reserved for the Nexus 6, possibly immediately after its official launch even. If true, this would make the Nexus 6 the first ever Nexus smartphone that will be sold directly by the carrier.

Of course, Nexus devices can be bought from Google Play Store unlocked, but, especially for phones, it is sometimes more economical to buy a device with carrier subsidy and data plans. AT&T is also no stranger to the Nexus devices, having carried the Nexus 7 tablet itself, but as far as smartphones go, T-Mobile and Verizon have dibs. That is until now, or until the official launch of the next Nexus smartphone confirms this little blooper.

Whoever is manning AT&T's website probably needs an extra espresso shot. The link for the LG G Vista, a totally unrelated Android smartphone, was temporarily replaced by a URL with Nexus 6 in the name. Of course, that link has since then been corrected but now instead redirects to AT&T Motorola section. Both that and the URL itself do seemingly confirm that the Nexus 6 is indeed of Motorola origins.

The second error is even less subtle. Online stores these days are quite keen on showing you what others have also viewed or bought in relation to the product you are currently staring at. AT&T's LG G3 Vigor page has that as well but, quite amusingly, it recommends a still non-existent Motorola Nexus 6 as something you might be more interested in. Considering the context, yes, we are definitely more interested in that. Hopefully it will not look like the LG G Vista though.

Aside from the rather curious coincidence that both errors are tied to LG's devices, neither incident gives us little new information about the Nexus 6 itself. We might not have to wait that long however. If the rumors are true, we might actually be seeing the Nexus 6 later today. That is if Google unveils the smartphone at the same times as the Nexus 9 tablet, which we are told should debut October 15.
