Nextbook Ares 8 Android tablet packs Atom Z3735G processor

Tablet shipments are booming and the most popular segment in the tablet market in most countries is the low end where tablets can be purchased on a budget. A new tablet from Nextbook has landed at Walmart and it is a perfect tablet for buyers who are looking for a first tablet for themselves or kids. The new tablet is the Nextbook Ares 8 and it runs the Android operating system.

The little tablet isn't packed with the latest and greatest features, but it has decent specs considering the budget price that Nextbook asks for the tablet. It will be available at Walmart for $78 in black, red, or blue colors. The tablet has an 8-inch IPS screen with 1280 x 800 resolution.

That screen has an aspect ratio of 16:9. Gamers or movie fans who want to watch on a larger screen can connect the tablet to a TV via an integrated microHDMI output. The processor under the hood is an Intel Atom Z3735G and the tablet has 1GB of RAM.

Internal storage is 16GB and the tablet is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The front camera is a 0.3MP unit and the rear is a 2.0MP unit. A microUSB port charges the tablet and a microSD card slot expands storage when needed. Nextbook equips it with a GPS sensor, 3-axis G sensor, and a 3.8V 4000 mAh battery. Android Lollipop is the OS out of the box and the tablet is available to purchase now.
