New Porsche Macan unveil shows one sexy SUV

Not too long ago Porsche offered up some photos of the new Macan SUV as it was undergoing testing in the mountains in South Africa. Fast forward a bit and Porsche has now unveiled the new Macan in Shanghai. The new Macan is a very attractive vehicle and has a three-dimensional LED taillight strip. The standard headlights are LED and the interior is heavily revised from the outgoing model.

That fancy LED taillight strip is meant to remind of the iconic 911 and the 918 Spyder and it does an excellent job of tying the Macan to the sports cars in the Porsche line. While the LED headlights are standard, buyers can option the Macan with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS) to adaptively control light distribution.

The new Macan gains some new options including a GT sports steering wheel that puts the Sport Response button into the steering wheel. That option is part of the Sports Chrono Package. Other options in the line include a heated windscreen and an ionizer inside to improve air quality. Porsche has added new colors to the Macan palette including Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Crayon.

New interior packages are available for the Macan along with other interior options. Traffic Jam Assist with adaptive cruise control is a new option that lets drivers relax in traffic at speeds up to 60 km/h. That feature assists with the throttle, braking, and steering. Macan buyers get a new PCM system with an 11-inch touchscreen and full connectivity.

The infotainment interface can be customized using predefined tiles. Air vents are redesigned and are now below the larger infotainment screen. The Connect Plus module is standard to connect the vehicle to a network. Porsche offers its intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management system to improve driving dynamics. Pricing and exact availability are unannounced.
