New Nintendo Direct will cover ARMS and Splatoon 2

Now that the Switch launch is over and we're moving deeper into the important first year, Nintendo is ready to start producing Nintendo Direct presentations again. The next one was announced today, with Nintendo revealing that it will mainly focus on ARMS and Splatoon 2 – two games that are on the horizon for the Switch.

This next Nintendo Direct is on the horizon itself, as Nintendo said today that it will be live streaming on Wednesday, April 12. Those are all the details Nintendo saw fit to give, though it seems safe to expect some gameplay footage and the reveal of unannounced features for both titles.

By most metrics, the Switch is off to a good start, though Nintendo does seem to have some trouble keeping the console in stock. Perhaps Nintendo will cover these stock issues during this new Direct broadcast? While the majority of alloted time will go toward ARMS and Splatoon 2, it sounds like Nintendo might be saving a few minutes to talk about other things.

ARMS is a brand new Nintendo IP being developed for the Switch. It was one of the first games revealed for the new console, and makes use of the Joy-Con controllers in ways that we haven't really seen. Splatoon 2, on the other hand, is a follow up to the wildly popular Wii U game, and is shaping up to be one of the biggest Switch releases of the year.

The next Nintendo Direct will be livestreaming on April 12 beginning at 6 PM Eastern time. If you're interested in watching it, you'll be able to find the stream though the source link below.
