Netflix lands new original comedy called Grace and Frankie
It seems like everytime that I turn around Netflix is announcing a new original series. I like that the company is constantly adding new original content to its lineup. Netflix has the very popular House of Cards original series. It also recently announced a new series From Dusk Till Dawn and another new series is in the works based on Pablo Escobar.
Netflix has announced yet another new series is coming to subscribers that puts Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin together again. The two actors worked together on the 80's comedy 9 to 5 with Dolly Parton. Netflix says that this will be "a very different kind of sitcom." The show is a single camera comedy that focuses on Grace played by Fonda, and Frankie player by Tomlin facing the final chapter of their lives.
The two play friends that are tossed together when their husbands announce they are in love with each other and are getting married. The show will be produced in 13 half hour episodes by Skydance Productions.
The writer of the series and creators are Marta Kauffman, Howard J. Morris, and Paula Weinstein. Grace and Frankie will premiere next year. The two women play long time rivals dealing with their change in marital status together.
