Mitsubishi 2015 Outlander GT eyes-on

Behold, the redesigned Outlander. This is the second edition in Mitsubishi's Outlander lineup, the first coming in 2014. This model has a new and improved look to it, coming with a smoother fascia and a wider array of options. Here at the LA Auto Show 2014 we're seeing the 2015 Outlander GT, that being the version with Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), though you'll have the option of picking this vehicle up in front-wheel drive as well.

Tech and Specs

The Outlander comes with a four or six-cylinder engine and here, in its GT form, comes with a 3.0-liter MIVEC V-6 with a six-speed automatic gearbox. You'll find fuel economy rated at 20MPG in the city and 28MPG on the highway while power output sits at 224 horsepower with 215 lb. ft. of torque.

New technologies are added to this year's model Outlander including Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning.

For those of you that live in hill-laden areas or places that get snow, there's traction control and hill start assist. You'll also have active stability control and side curtain airbags for good measure.

This GT S-AWC model works with a 105.1 inch wheelbase and a ground clearance of 8.5 inches. Incidentally, every version of this 2015 Outlander has the same quoted exterior dimensions regardless of model, including a 66.1 inch overall height and a 183.3 inch overall length.

GT S-AWC Features

There are several features that this GT model has that the rest of the 2015 Outlander family doesn't. One is 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Another feature the GT model has that the rest do not is chrome beltline molding. You'll also find Super-wide High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights.

Along the back you've got LED Rear combination tail lights where the rest of the Outlander models do not.

Interior

Inside you'll also find soft-touch instrument and door panels. You'll find push-button start/stop button and a FAST-key passive entry system.

A color touch panel display sits front and center with HD and Satellite radio controls, turn by turn directions – that's powered by Nokia HERE Traffic, by the way. You'll get a "premium audio system" packed in as well.

The Outlander GT will have optional leather seating, leather and wood interior trim, and a reclining second row of seats.

The base ES model configuration for the 2015 Outlander will be $23,195 while the GT S-SWC model – the one you're seeing here – will ring in at $29,045.
