Minuum keyboard coming to iOS 8 later this year
You expected this to happen, I'm sure. Minuum, the popular minimalist keyboard, is coming to the iPhone. Once iOS 8 hits, the keyboard that aims to give you the most screen real estate will be there, waiting for you with open arms.
The company has begun sending out emails to users, noting they'll be arriving on iPhones and iPads in the fall. There will also be a blue theme — brand new to welcome themselves to iOS. The utility we've come to like about Minuum stays put.
With the company's big ambitions, made evident since the day they landed on Kickstarter, iOS is a big deal for them. Already being used on Google Glass and various smartwatches, Minuum could end up being the one keyboard you really can use anywhere you like.
This is the latest in a line of keyboard apps coming to iOS. After making a home on Android — and maybe, kind of on iOS, too — Swiftkey is leading the charge for third-party keyboards on iOS. Minuum may not be quite as popular, but could be a good option for smaller iPhones (even though there may be two addition sizes coming in the fall).
Minuum didn't have a timeframe available for launch, but did hint a beta program would be available. That suggests they'll not be among the first on offer. If you're on Android, Minuum promises not to abandon you, noting they have a lot more features coming.
