Michael Keaton in for Beetlejuice 2 if Tim Burton is

One of those iconic movies of the 1980's came from director Tim Burton and actor Michael Keaton in the form of the spooky comedy Beetlejuice. Keaton played the title character in the film and the movie is a classic today. Keaton is still acting, though we haven't heard much from him until the new Robocop flick hit theaters this month.

During the press talks for the Robocop flick, Keaton was asked about some of his other films. It has now been 25 years since the original Batman hit theaters. Keaton was asked about some sort of Batman reunion and noted he was proud to be part of the original. Those original Batman films were much more comedic than the darker and grittier Christian Bale versions.

Keaton was also asked about Beetlejuice 2, which has been rumored for years. Keaton says that if Tim Burton is in for the sequel, he is in as well. Keaton says that he has emailed with Burton a few times and with the writer of the sequel a few times.

That writer is Seth Grahame-Smith, who is said to have been working on the Beetlejuice 2 script since 2012. Burton has an open schedule after 2014 so the sequel might happen. Nothing is confirmed right now but Keaton says if Burton is on board, it will be hard for him to not be involved as well.
