Lenovo's Moto Z Play Droid And Hasselblad Mod First Impressions

Verizon's release of the Moto Z Play Droid will, as the name indicates, be another DROID-branded device. Today Lenovo's Motorola announced that they'd be bringing the Moto Z Play Droid to the United States starting on the 8th of September through Motorola online and through Verizon stores at the same time. Along with this announcement was the reveal of the USA-ready version of the Hasselblad True Zoom Mod for the Moto Z.

The Hasselblad True Zoom Mod for the Moto Z family brings a next-level camera experience to the Moto Z, giving it a much more robust set of abilities. Our experience thus far suggests that the camera quality is good – good enough to be worth the price.

For video we're able to use Electronic Image Stabilization while no OIS exists. Video only shoots up to 1080p at 30fps, but zoom quality is outstanding at 10x.

Above you'll see A wide angle shot of a farm with a chicken head in the middle. That shot was taken by the Hasselblad Mod and produced the following (auto settings) details: f/3.5, 1/100, 4.5mm, ISO160.

This shot (above) (with auto settings) produced the following: f/6.5, 1/50, 45mm, ISO140.
