Lenovo U300s Ultraportable Laptop Revealed

This week the folks at Lenovo are revealing a handful of devices for those that love their computers to fly away at a gust of wind – first of all there's the "spectacularly slim" U300s Ultrabook, a luxury accessory as Lenovo puts it, powered by 2nd generation Intel® CoreTM i7 processor with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and rolling in at just 0.6 inches (14.9mm) thick. Will this be the first laptop on the market to trump the fruit-flavored gust, aka the MacBook Air? We shall see.

This device is created from a single-piece aluminum shell, a sleek and lightweight product weighting in at less than three points and having a 13.3-inch display, just large enough to do all your basically mobile work yet small enough to carry anywhere. With your 2nd generation Intel® CoreTM i7 processor with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 you'll be booting up in 10 seconds from cold, too, so it's time to get out there and make mobile!

UPDATE: we now have a hands-on video of this device up. Check it out here and in that hands-on post:

You've also got a 16:9 widescreen format HD going on in that display and 4GB DDR3 memory and up to 256GB of SSD storage for good measure. One of the things Lenovo has been clear on is the fact that the one-of-a-kind Breathable Keyboard is something that cannot be missed. With Intel Advanced Cooling Technology you'll have air flowing through your whole board of keys and in and out of the sides and rear hinge. How strange!

This technology does away with the need for vents under the device, making it easier on your legs, pillow, or cat under your laptop. Additionally inside you'll be working with up to eight hours of "productive use" with patented "Lenovo Long Life Battery" OR a fantabulous 30 days of standby time. Charging this battery take 30 minutes to reach 50%. Impressive.

This laptop is available in two colors, one being the plain Graphite Gray, the other being a lovely Clementine Orange. Starting price for this laptop is $1195 and it'll be available in October 2011 from Lenovo.com. Be there!
