Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS with best-in-class capture speed

Not quite in the same league as the RED Scarlet, but Kodak’s new EasyShare Z1015 IS does at least have the advantage of being available this year. The 10-megapixel shooter packs a Schneider-Kreuznach 15x optical zoom and 28mm wide-angle lens, good for both 16:9 HD stills and 720p 30fps video.

While there are plenty of tweakable settings for those so-inclined, the Z1015 does come with Kodak’s smart capture technology that automatically adjusts exposure and other settings depending on the scene being photographed.  Image captures themselves are sub-0.22sec, which is best in class, and there’s optical image stabilization, face detection and ISO settings up to 6400.

The Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS will be available in September this year, with a MRSP of $349.95.  It’ll be compatible with the existing Kodak EasyShare HDTV dock.
