"Jetmen" fly beside A380 superjumbo in heart-stopping stunt

The name "Jetman" might conjure up images of a death-defying hero with special abilities. In this case, it might be warranted, sans any superpower or mutation. Also known as Yves Rossy, an inventor and, obviously, a daredevil, Jetman has taken to the skies numerous times to tempt fate and entertain as well. Together with Jetman #2, his new protege Vince Reffet, himself a skydiving champion, the two take on their biggest and most dangerous challenge yet: flying over Dubai beside an Emirates A380 superjumbo plane.

It seems that Jetman has a soft spot for Dubai. It wasn't too long ago, in May in fact, when he and his new partner made their latest stunt. Perhaps it was the breathtaking view of the city from high above that has endeared it to him. And perhaps it's the city's willingness to spend some resources to advertise these events.

After all, you'd need to get a lot of permissions to pull of a stunt like this. Flying, with jetpacks, beside a giant plane is not only crazy, it's also dangerous. The pilots of the Emirates A380, well-trained though they may be, were probably never trained to have two humans flying within wing reach. So kudos to them as well.

No passengers were probably involved, though any passenger would consider herself or himself lucky to witness such a thing first hand. As long as they are on the safe side of the window, that is.
