Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe Gallery

Set a team of young automotive designers loose, with little more than the remit to create a track-storming electric sports car for Gran Turismo, and if you're Jaguar you end up with something like this. The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé is the latest virtual supercar coming to the game, and it borrows styling from the British automaker's racing history, combined with technology from its modern electric racers.

So, the outside gets lines inspired by the podium-storming C-type and D-type cars, that proved to be so successful at Le Mans in the 1950s. Inside, it's the E-type which gets a nod, though brought thoroughly up to date. Augmented reality windows, a co-pilot AI, and holographic interfaces mean this is an entire modern car.

The same goes for the drivetrain. Borrowing know-how from the Panasonic Jaguar Racing team, it uses three electric motors: two for the rear wheels and one for the front. Together they're good for 750 kW (1,005 horsepower) and 1,200 Nm of torque (885 lb-ft), along with a sub-2s 0-62 mph time. Sadly you'll only get to use that in Gran Turismo, as this particular electric supercar isn't intended for real roads.
