iPhone XC color leak sees supposed SIM trays spill secrets

We're now less than 24 hours out from tomorrow's iPhone reveal event, which leaves plenty of time for a few last-minute rumors to sneak in. If you've been keeping up with word on the street, then you'll know that Apple is rumored to be launching three different iPhones tomorrow. One of them could come with the name of iPhone XC and, like the iPhone 5C before it, launch in a variety of colors.

For the most part, Apple has stuck to similar color schemes for its yearly iPhone releases. The exception to that rule was the iPhone 5C, which sported a variety of vibrant colors outside of the typical space gray, silver, and (rose) gold we're used to seeing. If this latest leak is accurate, then it looks like Apple is planning to do something similar with the iPhone XC.

Earlier today, frequent leaker Ben Geskin shared an image that purportedly shows the SIM trays for each of the iPhone XC's different models. From this image, it seems that the iPhone XC will be available in space gray, silver – two standard iPhone colors – red, blue, and brown. Sorry 5C fans, but there's no yellow or green to be seen.

In that same Twitter thread, Geskin also says that these seemingly single SIM trays are actually double sided and can hold a SIM card on each side. That lines up nicely with the rumors that claim Apple's 2018 iPhone lineup will be dual SIM phones in some regions, but unfortunately, we probably can't expect that functionality on phones that launch here in the US.

As always, you should remain skeptical of everything you hear leading up to Apple's official reveal, but with that said, nothing in Geskin's leak seems particularly absurd. We'll find out if this leak is accurate soon enough, as Apple is slated to reveal its new iPhones tomorrow at 1 PM Eastern. We'll be covering that event as it happens, so check back with us here at SlashGear for everything you need to know.
