Huawei Mate 20 Pro leak shows square camera array

This week the folks at Huawei had a bit of a release-level leak with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. This smartphone is unique in several ways, including in its back-facing camera array. Instead of having cameras all in a line or just side-by-side, this smartphone's cameras are in a square configuration. The array contains three cameras and a dual-LED flash, ready to roll on the next generation of smartphones with LEICA photography finesse.

This smartphone has a 6.3-inch OLED display with 3120 x 1440 pixels across it. This smartphone has at least two different editions, one in Twilight, the other in Blue (with a slight textural color differentiation throughout) – and there's a regular ol' black, too. This smartphone has no fingerprint reader on its rear end because it's embedded up front, right under the device's display.

On the back, inside, is a scheme of innards that allows the charging of a pair of earbuds. Have a peek at that very weird leak from late last week, too. That has to do with the Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro ramps up the Mate 20 Lite that was mysteriously launched earlier than its more grande cousin. This device is one of three (or four) in a collection. One was the Lite, then there's the promise of the non-lite, non-pro version, then there's an even more extravagant version that's yet-to-peek.

According to WinFuture, the non-suffix version of this phone and the Pro are "Hima" and "Laya," like a mountain row. Then there's Everest, the most craziest (and probably most expensive) of them all.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a reveal event coming up soon. That event is set for October 16th, 2018, in London. There we'll likely see the earbuds, too – and another several attempts at pants-kicking from Huawei to their biggest competitors. Keep it tuned to SlashGear to see the whole lot, top to bottom.
