HTC's Suing Apple for Telephone Dialer and Power Management

And it just won't stop, will it? One complaint will lead into another, and before long it just turns into something like we have now. One company suing the other, and then ultimately that company counter-suing. It's a vicious circle. Unfortunately, it usually means that there's something boring happening behind the scenes, and while HTC wanted us to believe that their complaints were how you use your finger on your touchscreen device, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's quite the opposite, apparently.

According to TechCrunch, who have managed to grab the full details of what HTC is complaining about to Apple, the five patents have been exposed. The result? Nothing all that shocking, actually. One patent refers to the "method for power management of a smart phone." While another focuses on the phone dialer: "Telephone dialer with a personalized page organization of telephone directory memory." That last patent is actually listed twice, under two patent numbers, for some reason.

Other patents include, "telephone dialer with easy access memory," and "power control methods for a portable electronic device." So, as you can see, it's all about the features inside the phone, along with how a phone is powered due to the battery management. Yes, these are important aspects of the devices themselves, but we were expecting something quite different. We're sure this is going to get a lot more interesting, and very soon, so stay tuned.
