HTC Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphones tipped

We are going to file this in the rumor section until there is more confirmation, but this is an interesting rumor. HTC is more an Android smartphone maker in my mind, but over the years, the company has held close ties to Windows Mobile operating systems as well. It would be no surprise to see HTC offering up more Windows Phone 7.5 handsets once the Mango update lands. A new rumor that popped up claims just that.

According to the rumor, HTC is getting the Omega and Eternity smartphones ready for launch once Windows Phone 7.5 lands. The rumor claims that the Eternity will have a giant 4.7-inch AMOLED screen. The rear camera is pegged at an 8MP wide-angle unit with LED flash. The smartphone is also said to have DLNA compatibility and micro HDMI output. That sounds like an interesting smartphone as far as the hardware goes.

The other device, the HTX Omega isn't nearly as cool sounding as the Eternity. The Omega has a smaller 3.8-inch SLCD screen. It seems to have the same 8MP wide-angle camera with LED flash and it packs in DLNA support too. WMPoweruser says that it has found no indication that HTC owns the trademarks to the Omega and Eternity names. What do you think of these rumored devices?
